I lost a good friend last week.  Her name was Sally Ann Kribs.  She had been in my office for a long time.  Long before I got there.  Sally was born in 1935 so she had lots of stories to tell.  Stories about her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.  Lots of photos of them too.  Different jobs she’d had.  Places she lived.  However, the bond we formed was with shopping.  We both loved QVC.  We’d talk about the Today’s Special Value.  And what David was cooking “In the Kitchen”.  Oh let’s not forget our favorite host, Lisa Robertson, and PM Style.  She loved watching her.

What hurts the most is how she was talking about retiring.  To work so many jobs and to save so long (in between spluges for Dennis Basso coats or Tignanello handbags), and then not get to enjoy the freedom of retirement.  Now don’t get me wrong, Sally was a very happy person.  She loved her work.  She enjoyed helping people.  She was sometimes a little cranky about it, but I know she liked coming into work with us.  I just wish she could have had more time with her family.

It’s going to be hard to go back to work tomorrow.  Strange and quiet.   I’m going to miss seeing her everyday.   She had a great smile and a beautiful laugh.  Hugs and prayers go out to all of her friends and family.
